What does this night light do and when do you need it?

The ANSMANN Sensor night light is a rechargeable orientation light that responds automatically to its surroundings. Thanks to the built-in twilight sensor and motion detector, the light switches on as soon as it gets dark enough and movement is detected. This makes it ideal for situations where you want to find your way at night without switching on a bright light, such as in the hallway, the bathroom or on the stairs.

Why this size and this variant?

Measuring 76.2 x 29 x 79.2 mm (w x d x h), this night light is compact enough to go unnoticed during the day, yet present enough to do its job well. It runs on a rechargeable battery and is charged via USB-C, which means you don't need any loose batteries. The supplied USB charging cable and magnetic wall mounting plate make it easy to fix the light in a permanent spot.

An honest note on brightness and modes

The light has an output of 5 lumens, which is deliberately kept low: this is enough to get your bearings without dazzling you in a dark room. You have 5 light modes, including a dimming function and an automatic colour-change option. Don't expect this to light a whole room, but do expect a focused orientation light for use at night.

Practical tip for placement and use

The supplied magnetic plate makes wall mounting easy and also lets you remove the light easily to charge it. Attach the plate in a strategic spot, such as at eye level in a dark hallway, so the motion detector can do its job optimally. Because the light is charged via USB-C, you can use the same charger as for many other modern devices.
