When do you choose this product?
What does this product do and when do you need it?
This Clairefontaine drawing paper is intended for anyone working with dry drawing techniques, such as sketching, pencil, charcoal or other dry drawing media. The 240 x 320 mm format is ideal for loose drawing sheets that you can use at your leisure, without needing a large block or sketchbook. Reach for this paper as soon as you are specifically looking for a blank, coarse-grained paper surface for drawing work.
Why this format is the right choice
At 240 x 320 mm you are somewhere between a small and a large format, which is handy for detailed work without your sheets filling up too quickly. The pack of 12 sheets is suitable if you want to try out how the paper behaves with your drawing technique, without immediately buying a large stock. This also makes it practical for individual assignments, exercises or a course where you don't need hundreds of sheets straight away.
An honest explanation of the weight and texture
The paper has a weight of 180 g/m², which is heavier than standard printer paper and therefore better able to withstand use with drawing media that require more pressure or layering. The designation 'Grain' indicates a grainy texture, meaning the paper has surface texture rather than a smooth finish. This is worth knowing, because a smoother paper gives a different result with charcoal or pastel, for example, than this coarse-grained type.
