This cable has active electronic components built in that amplify the signal over longer distances. This way you retain the full USB 3.2 Gen2 speed of up to 10 Gbit/s without any loss of speed. Without this active amplification, an ordinary passive cable would become much slower.
Compatibility and connection
The cable works plug & play without extra drivers and is fully backwards compatible with older USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices. Please note that you need a USB-C port on one end and a USB-A port on the other. So check in advance which connections your devices have, as the cable only works in one direction.
