Compost your kitchen waste quickly and odour-free with this handy Bokashi bin!‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍ Thanks to the oxygen-free fermentation and the drain tap, you keep everything neatly under control, without any trouble from insects or unpleasant smells.‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍

When do you choose this product?

When should you choose bokashi composting?
Bokashi composting is the ideal solution if you want to process organic waste at home without any odours or insects. This method uses oxygen-free fermentation to turn kitchen waste into valuable compost. You can dispose of all organic leftovers, including meat and dairy, which cannot be composted in a traditional compost bin.

Why this compact size?
With dimensions of 27x27x39 cm, this compost bin fits perfectly in smaller kitchens, on the balcony or in the utility room. The handy size ensures you regularly produce fresh compost.

How does oxygen-free fermentation work?
The fermentation process takes place completely sealed off from oxygen, so your organic waste does not rot but ferments. This process prevents odours and insects, which means you can use the bin indoors without any problems. The fermentation also produces a liquid fertiliser that you can drain off via the supplied tap.

Practical details for everyday use
The bin is made of plastic and features a sturdy handle for easy transport. The chalk/almond colour blends neutrally into various interior styles. You receive a press tool to push down the contents and a collection tray to catch the liquid fertiliser. For the best results, you need bokashi granules, which you add with each layer of waste.

Note:
Using the Bokashi bin with an activator (effective micro-organisms) is recommended to ensure faster and successful fermentation. Alternatively, fresh or dried yeast combined with sugar, or lactic acid bacteria from whey or yoghurt cultures, can be used to create the acidic environment needed for fermentation.

Instructions for production without an activator:
- Chop organic waste very finely: the smaller the waste, the faster and more reliably the micro-organisms work
- Pack down well: airtight sealing is essential, as otherwise mould will develop
- Soil or compost: sprinkling in a handful of ordinary garden soil can serve as a starter for micro-organisms
- Maturing time: the process may take longer than the usual two weeks
