When do you choose this product?
When do you need this artistic set?
This 21-piece gift set from Faber-Castell is perfect for anyone who wants to experiment with different watercolour techniques in a single project. You get both Albrecht Dürer watercolour pencils and Pitt Artist Pen brush pens, allowing you to combine dry and wet techniques. This makes the set ideal for mixed media artworks, sketches with fine detail, or illustrations where you want control over line and colour gradation.
Why choose exactly this combination?
With 17 Albrecht Dürer watercolour pencils, you have a broad colour palette at your disposal for watercolour work. The addition of 3 brown Pitt Artist Pen brush pens in different tip sizes (S, M, B) gives you the ability to add sharp lines and details that won't blur when they come into contact with water. This combination offers more versatility than loose watercolour pencils.
What makes watercolour pencils special?
Albrecht Dürer pencils work like ordinary coloured pencils when used dry, but transform into genuine watercolour paint as soon as you go over them with a wet brush. You therefore have control over intensity: a light wash for subtle effects or more water for vibrant, flowing colours. The included brush makes this transformation possible straight away.
Practical tip for optimal use
Always use the brush pens as the final layer, as they are waterproof and won't run when you apply watercolour over them later. Start with the watercolour pencils for areas of colour and shadows, work these out with the brush, then add details with the brown Pitt Artist Pen in the appropriate tip size for the desired effect.
