When do you need a child-safe pencil sharpener?

This Faber-Castell Grippy pencil sharpener has been specially developed for use by children. You choose this product if you are looking for a safe way to sharpen pencils in settings where children work independently, such as at home, at school or in a nursery.

Why choose the Grippy variant?

The Grippy stands out for its child-safe construction with built-in blade protection. This means small fingers cannot come into contact with the sharp sharpening mechanism. You can be confident that children can sharpen their pencils independently without any risk of injury.

How does the safety feature work?

The product gives a clear 'click' when you insert the pencil, so children can hear when the pencil is correctly placed. The sharpener is fitted with a safety screw that prevents children from opening the housing and reaching the sharp parts. This thoughtful design makes independent sharpening possible without adult supervision.

Practical tip for use

Make sure you place the sharpener on a stable surface during use. The blue colour makes the product easy to spot and less likely to be misplaced in a classroom or playroom. Check regularly that the safety screw is still firmly in place to ensure optimal protection.
