This jumbo pencil with an extra thick 5.3 mm lead feels wonderful in the hand and doesn't break easily thanks to the special bonding. Perfect for long drawing projects and ideal for anyone who prefers working with a sturdier pencil.
When do you choose this product?
When do you need a pencil with an extra thick lead?
The CASTELL 9000 Jumbo is ideal when you write, sketch or draw a lot and want to see results quickly. The 5.3 mm thick lead covers more surface than a standard pencil, so you can shade large areas or draw bold lines more quickly. This makes the pencil suitable for graphic work, architectural sketches and educational purposes.
Why choose the hexagonal shape?
The hexagonal shape stops the pencil from rolling off your desk and offers extra grip during use. This is especially handy during long periods of work, as your hand is less likely to tire. The stable grip gives you more control over your line work, which matters when doing precise drawing.
Durability thanks to a special bonding process
This pencil uses a special bonding technique that prevents the thick 5.3 mm lead from breaking. Thanks to the extra wide 175 mm long barrel, the pencil sits firmly in the hand and is less prone to damage during intensive use. The green water-based lacquer finish provides a durable coating that withstands daily use.
Practical tip for optimal use
Because of the thick lead, you need a sharpener suitable for 5.3 mm leads – a standard sharpener is not sufficient for this. The HB grade offers a good balance between darkness and hardness, so the pencil can be used versatilely for both writing and drawing without the tip wearing down too quickly.
