What does this cable do, and when do you need it?
An HDMI 2.1 cable connects devices such as a TV, monitor, games console or media player to a video source via a single cable for both picture and sound. You specifically need an HDMI 2.1 cable when you want to make use of equipment that supports higher resolutions or refresh rates than older HDMI versions can handle. With a data rate of up to 48 Gbit/s, this cable offers more than enough bandwidth for most modern screens and televisions.

Why this length and this format?
At a length of 5.0 metres, this cable gives you the freedom to position devices at some distance from one another, such as a receiver in a TV unit connected to a projector or screen on the other side of the room. Both ends are fitted with an HDMI Type A (19-pin) plug, the most common connection type on televisions, monitors and consoles. You therefore don't need an adapter or intermediate connector.

What do the gold-plated contacts and triple shielding provide?
The gold-plated contacts ensure a reliable connection that is less susceptible to oxidation over time. The cable is also triple-shielded, which means external electromagnetic interference is less likely to affect the signal. This is particularly relevant in environments with a lot of other electronics present.

Practical tip on compatibility
Before purchasing, check that your source device and your screen actually have an HDMI 2.1 port. On devices with an older HDMI version, the cable will still work, but you won't fully use the maximum bandwidth. The aluminium housing and the nylon braided jacket protect the cable against bending and wear around the connectors during everyday use.
