When do you choose this product?
What does this product do?
This brush set from Royal Talens is designed for artists working with oil paint, acrylic paint and gouache. The ArtCreation ELEMENTS series gives you a complete foundation for applying a variety of painting techniques. The cowhair bristles provide the right flexibility and spring when applying paint.
Why this selection is ideal
The set contains five different brushes that together cover all the basic techniques: one round brush size 6 for detailed work, two cat's tongue brushes (sizes 10 and 14) for special effects, and two flat brushes (sizes 10 and 14) for filling areas and broad strokes. This variety of shapes and sizes gives you the flexibility to work on both fine details and large surfaces.
Cowhair properties
Cowhair is a sturdy, hard-wearing natural material known for its spring and paint-holding capacity. The hair holds enough paint for smooth strokes, yet is firm enough to keep control over your brushwork. This makes it suitable for the three paint types these brushes are intended for: oil paint, acrylic paint and gouache.
Practical tip for use
The wooden handle gives you a good grip while painting. Clean your brushes straight after use, especially with acrylic paint, which dries quickly. For oil paint, use turpentine or white spirit; for acrylic paint and gouache, lukewarm water with soap is sufficient. Store the brushes hanging or lying flat with protected tips to help them keep their shape.
