What are soft pastels and when do you use them?
Soft pastels are drawing materials that let you apply intense, velvety-soft colours to paper. You use them for artistic drawings, portraits and landscapes where you want to blend and smudge. These Royal Talens Rembrandt pastels are suitable for both beginning and advanced artists who want to work with dry drawing materials.

Why choose 45 whole pastels in a set?
With 45 whole pastels, you have an extensive colour palette at your disposal to create varied artworks. Whole pastels give you the flexibility to both fill large areas with colour and draw fine details. You can use them in different ways: the side for broad strokes and the tip for precise lines.

The benefits of a wooden storage box
These pastels come in a high-quality wooden box that protects your drawing materials well against breaking and crumbling. The wooden box keeps your pastels neatly organised and easy to take along to different drawing locations. In addition, the sturdy packaging prevents the pastels from being damaged during transport.

Practical tip for use and storage
Always store the pastels in their original wooden box to keep them in optimal condition. Soft pastels can break easily, so handle them with care. For the best results, use special pastel paper with a light texture that holds the pastel powder well. Afterwards, fix your drawings with fixative spray to prevent fading.
