Get started with museum-quality watercolour paint straight away! This set from Royal Talens contains 12 vibrant, assorted colours with high colour strength, and a brush and mixing palette are included.
When do you choose this product?
What does this product do and when do you need it?
Watercolour paint is used with water to create transparent layers of colour on paper. The Van Gogh watercolour paint set from Royal Talens is intended for anyone who wants to start watercolour painting or is looking for a compact, complete set to work with. The 12 half pans offer a wide colour palette, so you can get started straight away without buying loose paint tubes or additional materials.
Why this set with 12 assorted colours?
The set contains a carefully chosen selection of 12 colours that together cover a broad spectrum, from warm yellow and orange to cool blue, green and purple. Think of shades such as pyrrole orange, ultramarine deep, phthalo blue and viridian, which allow you to mix both warm and cool tones. With this range, you can mix virtually any colour you need for landscapes, portraits or abstract compositions.
Honest about colour strength and transparency
The colours in this set are formulated to be brilliant and transparent, with high colour strength. Transparency is a core characteristic of watercolour paint: it makes layered work and subtle effects possible, with the paper remaining visible through the paint layer. This does call for a deliberate working method, in which you build up from light to dark.
Practical tip: what's included and how do you store it?
The set comes in a plastic box that doubles as a mixing palette, including a mixing dish and a size 6 synthetic brush. That way you have everything you need to start straight away. Keep the box closed after use so the pans don't dry out, and rinse your brush thoroughly with water after each session to keep the synthetic bristles in good condition.
