With 72 colours, you effortlessly transform every drawing or sketch into a colourful work of art. The soft core delivers intense pigmentation and blends easily, perfect for a wide range of dry drawing techniques.
When do you choose this product?
When do you need professional colouring pencils?
Colouring pencils with soft cores are essential for artists, designers and illustrators who work on detailed drawings and colour work. These STAEDTLER Design Journey pencils are specifically developed for various dry techniques such as hatching, blending and layering. With 72 different colours, you have an extensive palette for complex projects.
Why choose hexagonal pencils?
The hexagonal shape prevents the pencils from rolling off your drawing table, which is especially handy during longer drawing sessions. This shape also feels more comfortable in the hand than round pencils and gives more control for precision work. For professional use, this offers practical advantages during intensive drawing.
Soft core for optimal colour blending
The soft 2.9 mm core delivers highly pigmented colours that are easy to blend. This means you can create smooth colour transitions and produce different shades by layering colours over one another. The soft texture ensures richly opaque colours without having to apply much pressure.
Practical tip for use
Keep the 72 pencils organised by colour so you can work efficiently. Because of the soft core, these pencils wear down faster than harder varieties, so use a good pencil sharpener suitable for soft cores. The OEM code 146C C72 helps when reordering this specific set.
