What is masking tape used for?

Masking tape is used to cover surfaces you do not want to paint or varnish. The WESTEX Profi Gold is designed for situations where you need sharp paint edges, such as when painting walls, window frames or other areas where two colours must meet seamlessly.

Why choose this size and this variant?

This tape measures 30 mm wide by 40 metres long, which makes it suitable for both smaller jobs and longer masking projects without having to change tape often. The thin and flexible material ensures the tape adheres well to irregular or curved surfaces. Because it unrolls very easily, you work quickly and without frustration.

Honest about its properties

The tape is heat-resistant up to 150 degrees, which means you can also use it for work that generates heat, such as varnishing with a heat gun or near radiators. In addition, the high moisture resistance provides strength when working in damp conditions or with water-based paint. The UV resistance also makes it usable for outdoor jobs where the tape is temporarily exposed to sunlight.

Practical tip when using

The tape is specifically suitable for double masking, where one layer of tape is applied over another for extra protection of the substrate. Always remove the tape before the paint has fully cured to guarantee the sharpest paint edge and to prevent damage to the substrate. Before use, check that the surface is clean and dry for the best adhesion.
