When do you need a yellow ink cartridge?
A yellow ink cartridge such as the Brother LC-985Y is used for printing documents and photos in colour. Yellow is one of the four basic ink colours (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) that together can form all colours. When you want to print colourful presentations, photos or documents with coloured elements, a working yellow ink cartridge is essential.

Compatibility with your Brother printer
This LC-985Y ink cartridge has been specially developed for Brother DCP and MFC printers from the J-series. You can use this cartridge in the DCP-J125, DCP-J140W, DCP-J315W, DCP-J515W, MFC-J220, MFC-J265W, MFC-J410 and MFC-J415W. By using the correct Brother model number, you avoid compatibility problems and ensure optimal print quality.

What you can expect from the yield
With this yellow ink cartridge you can print approximately 260 pages at 5 percent ink coverage. This means that with normal office use, where you occasionally print coloured elements, the cartridge will last a long time. With intensive use of a lot of yellow in your prints, the cartridge will run out sooner than these 260 pages.

Practical tip for the best results
Before installing the cartridge, check that your printer model exactly matches the compatibility list. Store unused ink cartridges in a cool, dry place and avoid direct sunlight. Only install the new cartridge when the current one is actually empty, as Brother ink cartridges deliver the best quality when they are fresh.
