When do you choose this product?
When do you need a manga sketchbook?
A manga sketchbook is specially designed for drawing Japanese comic stories and anime characters. You need this type of sketchbook if you want to create manga, practise anime figures or develop your own stories in this style. It differs from ordinary sketchbooks through its specific paper quality and layout, which are perfectly suited to manga drawing.
Why this compact 140×216 mm format?
The handy A5 format makes this sketchbook perfectly portable for on the go or during manga workshops. You can easily slip it into your backpack and work on your drawings wherever you are. This format offers sufficient space for detailed character studies and panels, without the book becoming unwieldy for everyday use.
What makes the 200 g/m² paper special?
The smooth white paper of 200 g/m² is sturdy enough to support various drawing and inking techniques without bleeding through. This paper weight prevents your drawings from showing through on the reverse, which is essential in manga work where you often work with ink and fine lines. The smooth surface ensures fluid line work with both pencil and pen.
Practical details for intensive use
The sewn hardcover ensures the book lies flat while you draw, which increases ease of working. The elastic strap keeps your sketchbook closed and prevents damage to your work. The inside pocket in the cover is useful for storing loose sketches, reference material or template sheets that you often use when drawing manga.
