When do you choose this product?
When do you need a mixed media sketchbook?
This CANSON sketchbook has been specially developed for artists and illustrators who want to work with different materials. You choose this type of block when you don't know in advance which technique you will use, or when you want to combine different materials in a single artwork.
Why A2 format is the right choice
The A2 format offers enough space for extensive sketches and artworks without being limited by the paper size. With 15 sheets, you have enough material for multiple projects or for developing different ideas. The spiral-bound design ensures you can fold the block completely open and draw comfortably.
The secret of 300 gsm paper
The paper weight of 300 grams per square metre provides the sturdiness needed when working with wet techniques such as watercolour, gouache and acrylic. The rough, slightly cream-coloured surface has a high volume, allowing the paper to absorb more pigment and making the colours more intense. These properties make it possible to apply several layers without the paper becoming soaked or damaged.
Practical tip for optimal use
This paper is suitable for dry techniques such as charcoal, chalk and pastel, but also for wet materials such as watercolour and acrylic. Thanks to the stable back of the block, you can even draw standing up without the paper bending. Store the block horizontally to prevent the sheets from warping, and make sure your workspace is well lit so you can make the most of the slightly cream tint of the paper.
