What does this accordion sketchbook do?
This CANSON ART BOOK Montval is a unique sketchbook that unfolds completely into one long strip of paper measuring 1,480 mm. Instead of loose pages, you work on a single continuous sheet that you can fold concertina-style. This makes it ideal for panoramic drawings, long comic strips, timelines or continuous artworks where you want to break free from the limits of traditional pages.

Why choose this accordion format?
The accordion principle gives you the freedom to work in small sections as well as use the full length for grand compositions. You can handle the book normally for studies and sketches, but also fully unfold it for projects that need more space. The compact 148×210 mm format ensures the book is still easy to take along, despite the large working surface it offers.

Suitable for wet techniques
The 300 g/m² paper with a light grain is specifically developed for watercolour, gouache and acrylic paint. The heavier paper weight prevents the paper from buckling or tearing when you work with damp materials. The natural white colour and light texture give your paint optimum adhesion and ensure beautiful colour transitions.

Practical details for everyday use
The black hardcover with elastic band keeps your work well protected and ensures the book stays closed during transport. The elastic band is particularly useful because otherwise the accordion paper could easily fall open. Store the book flat to prevent the paper from warping, especially if you have used wet techniques on it.
