What does this sketchbook do and when do you need it?
The CANSON XL Black sketchbook is specially designed for artists who work on black paper. You use this type of paper when you want to experiment with light colours on a dark background, or when you want to create dramatic contrasts in your artworks. The black paper gives a completely different experience from traditional white drawing and sketching paper.

Why the A4 format with 40 sheets is the right choice
With the standard A4 format of 210 x 297 mm, you have plenty of room for extensive sketches without the book becoming awkwardly large. The 40 sheets provide enough material for a longer creative period, while the book remains compact. Thanks to the top spiral binding, you can easily flip through your work and use the book practically.

The benefit of 150 g/m² black paper
The paper weight of 150 g/m² ensures the paper is sturdy enough for various drawing techniques without tearing. The deep black paper forms a powerful base on which light colours and white accents stand out even more. The colour gives your artworks a professional and dramatic look that you cannot achieve with white paper.

Practical tip for optimal use
This sketchbook is suitable for felt-tip pen, pencil and pastel, so you can combine different materials in a single piece. Thanks to the micro-perforation, you can tear your finished drawings neatly out of the book without ragged edges. Store the book lying flat to prevent creases in the paper, and protect your work from dust by keeping the book closed.
