When do you need a heavyweight sketchbook?
This Clairefontaine Croquis sketchbook is designed for serious drawing and painting work where you use heavier techniques. With a paper weight of 250 g/m², this pad can handle all dry techniques, from pencil and charcoal to pastel chalk and coloured pencils. You choose this type of pad when ordinary copier paper is too thin and bleeds through or curls.

Why A4 format for your drawings?
The A4 format offers enough room for detailed sketches and studies without taking up too much space on your worktable. This makes it ideal for both beginning and experienced artists who want to practise or develop concepts. The format also fits easily in most drawing cases or backpacks.

The benefits of lightly textured paper
The paper has a light tooth, which means the surface has a subtle texture. This property helps dry drawing and painting materials adhere better to the paper and gives you more control over hatching and shadow effects. The texture is not too coarse, so you can also work out fine details.

Practical: 250 sheets for long-term use
With 250 sheets, you have enough paper for a whole series of projects or longer practice sessions. This prevents you from running out of paper halfway through a creative session. Store the pad dry and flat to prevent the paper from curling.
