This is why Dex likes this article
This grained drawing paper from Clairefontaine is suitable for both dry and wet techniques, so your pencil, charcoal or watercolour will look its best. The spiral binding at the top makes turning pages easy, and the acid-free 180 g/m² paper stays nicely white.
When do you choose this product?
What does this sketch pad do and when do you need it?
This textured drawing paper has been specially developed for both dry and wet drawing techniques. Use it for pencil drawings, charcoal, pastel chalk, but also for watercolour, ink and markers. The pad is ideal when you want to experiment with different materials without having to switch paper.
Why this A4 size is the practical choice
The A4 format (210 x 297 mm) offers enough space for detailed work and finished sketches without being too large for your workspace. With 30 sheets, you have enough paper for a complete series of drawings or studies. The spiral binding at the top ensures you can draw comfortably without your hand touching the binding.
Why 180 g/m² makes the difference
The paper weight of 180 g/m² means the paper is sturdy enough to withstand wet techniques without wrinkling or tearing. It is thicker than standard drawing paper, so you can use both sides without the drawing showing through on the other side. The textured surface provides grip for dry materials such as pencil and chalk.
Practical tip for optimal use
The paper is acid-free, which means your drawings will not yellow over time. For wet techniques such as watercolour, it is best to work from light to dark to get the best result. Store the pad flat and dry to prevent the paper from warping, especially after using wet media.
