Still have data on an old hard drive? With this adapter cable, you can connect both IDE and SATA drives at lightning speed via USB 3.0. Plug & play, including mains power, and ready to use straight away on Windows and Mac.
When do you choose this product?
When do you need a hard drive adapter cable?
This DIGITUS adapter cable solves the problem when you want to read out old hard drives or transfer data to a new computer. It connects 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch hard drives directly to your computer via USB 3.0, without having to install the drive internally.
Why choose this universal version?
This adapter supports both IDE and SATA/SATA II hard drives, so you can connect virtually all common hard drive types. Whether you have an old IDE drive from a vintage computer or a more modern SATA drive, this one cable can handle both. The 2.5 and 3.5-inch formats cover both laptop and desktop hard drives.
Fast data transmission of 5 Gbit/s
The USB 3.0 connection provides a data transfer rate of 5 Gbit/s, which means you can transfer large files relatively quickly. This speed is especially useful when making complete back-ups or transferring large amounts of photos and videos from old systems.
Plug & Play compatibility
The adapter works immediately without additional software on Windows 7, Vista, XP and Mac OS 10.x systems. The supplied 12V/2A power adapter ensures that even larger 3.5-inch desktop hard drives receive enough power to function stably. You only need to connect the drive, plug the USB cable into your computer and connect the power cable to the mains socket - the computer recognises the drive automatically.
