When do you choose this product?
When do you need soft pastels?
Soft pastels are ideal for artists who work with gentle colour transitions and atmospheric effects. You use them for drawings where you want to combine intense colours with subtle blending and softening. This technique is perfect for portraits, landscapes and artistic studies where texture and depth are important.
Why choose 48 colours in half length?
With 48 different colours, you get an extensive colour palette with which you can create almost any desired shade or use them straight from the set. The half length makes these pastels easier to handle and store, while still providing enough material for multiple artworks. This format offers the right balance between versatility and practical handling.
Brilliant colours with good lightfastness
These Faber-Castell soft pastels deliver intense, vibrant colours with high lightfastness. This means your artworks retain their original colour brilliance for longer, even when exposed to light over extended periods. The silky colour release makes it easy to fill areas and add subtle details without having to press hard.
Excellent blending and smudging
A great advantage of these soft pastels is that they blend beautifully. You can easily let colours merge into one another with your finger, a blending stump or special tools. This makes them particularly suitable for techniques where you want to create soft transitions and atmospheric effects. Store the pastels in their original packaging to prevent breakage and keep them dry.
