When do you need soft pastels?
Soft pastels are ideal for artists who want to create rich, smooth colour transitions in their work. This drawing technique is popular with both beginners and advanced artists who experiment with different forms of expression.
Why choose this set of 12 pieces?
A set of 12 soft pastels gives you a solid basic palette to start with, without being overwhelmed by too many colour choices. You have enough variety to practise colour mixing and try out different techniques. This Studio Quality version from Faber-Castell gives you access to professional results without the investment of a large set.
Brilliant colours with excellent blending
These soft pastels deliver brilliant colours with a high light intensity, making your work vibrant and eye-catching. The silky-smooth colour release means you can draw and shade effortlessly. An important feature is that they blend excellently, which means you can easily create colour transitions and let different tones merge into one another.
Practical tip for long-term use
These pastels have good lightfastness, which means your artworks will retain their colour intensity over time. Store your soft pastels in a dry environment and use them on special pastel paper for the best adhesion. Thanks to the soft consistency, you can draw details as well as fill large areas by holding the pastel flat.
