When do you choose this product?
What is watercolour paint and when do you use it?
Watercolour paint is water-soluble paint that you use for paintings with soft, flowing transitions. You need it when you want to build up transparent layers or create subtle colour blends. This type of paint is ideal for landscapes, portraits and other artworks where you aim for a natural, light appearance.
Why tubes of 9 ml in a 12-piece set?
With 12 different colours in 9 ml tubes, you have enough variety to mix all the basic shades without wasting too much paint. Tubes retain their quality longer than pans because they are sealed airtight. The 9 ml contents of each tube provide enough material for multiple painting projects without you having to buy large quantities straight away.
How does the mixability of this watercolour paint work?
This Faber-Castell watercolour paint mixes perfectly, and both light and dark shades combine well with each other. Thanks to the optimal colour flow, the paint spreads evenly across your paper and you can effortlessly create new colour nuances. The intense and brilliant colours produce vibrant results, while the reactivatable property means you can reactivate previously applied layers with water.
Practical tip for using the mixing palette
Use the included mixing palette to combine different colours before applying them to paper. Squeeze small amounts from the tubes onto the palette and gradually add water until you reach the desired consistency. Store tubes with the opening facing down so the paint does not dry out at the nozzle.
