Orange 100-metre Cat.7 installation cable for professional network installations. With S/FTP shielding and 600 MHz bandwidth, you can set up a stable and fast network, ideal for fixed wall installations.
When do you choose this product?
What does this installation cable do and when do you need it?
An installation cable is intended to be permanently routed into walls, floors or ceilings as fixed network infrastructure. You choose this type of cable when you are wiring a building with fixed connection points, for example for workstations, servers or access points. Thanks to its length of 100 metres, you can cover larger installations or multiple connection points in one room with a single reel.
Why Cat.7 with S/FTP shielding?
Cat.7 is designed for networks that require high bandwidth and maximum shielding. This cable works up to 600 MHz and features double shielding: a braided sheath around the entire cable and individual foil shielding per wire pair (S/FTP). This combination effectively protects the signal against electromagnetic interference from the surroundings, which is important in environments with a lot of electrical equipment or cables running in parallel.
An honest explanation of the performance and standards
It is good to know that the Cat.7 performance of this cable applies up to a length of 70 metres, not the full 100 metres. So plan your installation such that the critical connections fall within those 70 metres. The outer sheath is made of LSZH material (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) and complies with EN50575 and EN50399 with Euroclass Eca. This means that in the event of fire, the cable releases little smoke and no halogen gases, which is relevant for installations in corridors, suspended ceilings or other spaces where smoke development could be dangerous.
Practical installation tip
The wires are made of AWG 23 CCA, meaning the core is copper-clad aluminium. Keep this in mind when choosing your tools and connectors, as CCA wires sometimes require a slightly different termination technique than solid copper. The orange colour coding also helps you recognise this cable type in an installation with multiple categories.
