Why Cat.7 with S/FTP shielding?

Cat.7 supports a bandwidth of up to 600 MHz, leaving room for demanding network applications. The S/FTP shielding means that each twisted pair is individually wrapped in metallic foil, and the entire cable core is fitted with a braided aluminium screen. This makes the cable particularly suitable for environments where electromagnetic interference plays a role, such as near electrical cables or industrial equipment.

Honest about the conductor: CCA instead of solid copper

The wires in this cable are made of CCA (Copper Clad Aluminium): an aluminium core with a copper outer layer. CCA is lighter and cheaper than solid copper, but has slightly higher resistance. For standard data transmission in an office or home environment this is rarely noticeable in practice, certainly within the specified maximum cable length of 70 metres for Cat.7 performance.

Practical tip: jacket and fire rating for installation

The outer jacket is made of LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen), which is required or recommended in many professional installation scenarios. The cable complies with EN50575 and EN50399 and has the Euroclass Eca fire rating.
