What this felt-tip pen does and when you need it

The Paper:Mate Flair is a water-based felt-tip pen, designed for writing, highlighting and keeping colourful notes. You use it when you want notes that stand out immediately, for example when organising notebooks, planners or meeting minutes. The ink does not seep through the paper, so you can also use the reverse side of a sheet.

Why this particular set is the right choice

This pack contains four pens in red, light green, light blue and orange, a combination aimed at colour coding and visual structure. You get four distinctive colours in a single purchase, which is handy if you use a system where different subjects or priorities each have their own colour. The body and cap of each pen are in the same colour as the ink, so you can grab the right pen at a glance.

An honest word about line width

The writing width is 1.0 mm, which falls under the designation M (medium). That makes this pen suitable for ordinary handwritten text and short notes, but less suitable if you want to write very fine details or small lettering in a busy diary. For highlighting headings or writing action points on a whiteboard, this line width works well.

Practical tip on use and storage

The pen has a metal pocket clip, which means you can easily clip it to a notebook or breast pocket without it rolling away. If you are not using the pens for a longer period, preferably store them horizontally or with the cap on, so the water-based ink does not dry out.
