What does this ballpoint pen do, and when do you need it?

The Pelikan Hang Stick is a disposable ballpoint pen for everyday writing at the office or at home. Thanks to the oil-based ink, it writes smoothly and fluently, and the ink is document-proof — meaning your notes and signatures are resistant to fading over time.

Why choose this variant?

The ballpoint pen has an ergonomic triangular shape, which makes it comfortable to hold during longer writing sessions. The transparent plastic body lets you see straight away how much ink is left, so you won't be caught out unpleasantly. The cap is the same colour as the ink — in this case blue — so you can spot it quickly in a pen holder or bag.

An honest look at line thickness

The writing width of this ballpoint pen is 1.0 mm. That is wider than what you're used to with a fine ballpoint, so lines and letters appear somewhat fuller and clearer. This makes it easy to read, but less suitable if you're used to an extremely fine writing line or record a lot of detail in a small space.

Practical tip for use and storage

Always replace the cap after use to prevent the tip from drying out — with a disposable ballpoint, this is the most common reason it stops writing prematurely. Preferably store the pen horizontally or with the tip facing down, so the ink always stays close to the tip. The Hang Stick is ready for immediate use and requires no refill or further preparation.
