When do you need a fountain pen?
A fountain pen is the choice when you write regularly and value writing comfort and a personal appearance. This Pelikan fountain pen is ideal for everyday use at the office, when signing important documents, or for extensive handwriting where an ordinary ballpoint pen falls short.

What makes the piston mechanism special?
This fountain pen works with a piston mechanism (Kolbenmechanik), with which you draw the ink directly from a bottle. The transparent window shows you exactly how much ink is left, so you are never caught out by surprises. This system is more reliable than cartridges and gives you the freedom to use any ink colour you like.

Practical tip for use
The gold-plated stainless steel nib writes smoothly on most paper types, but avoid rough paper that could damage the nib. For the best results, use fountain pen friendly paper. Store the fountain pen horizontally or with the nib pointing up to prevent leaks, and rinse the piston mechanism regularly with lukewarm water when changing ink colours.
