What is a technical pen and when do you need one?
A technical pen such as the Rotring isograph is specially designed for precision work where you need consistent line widths. You use this pen for technical drawings, architectural sketches, graphic design or detailed work where every line must have exactly the same thickness. Unlike ordinary pens, a technical pen always delivers a uniform line width, regardless of the writing angle or the pressure you apply.

Why choose the 0.50 mm line width?
The 0.50 mm variant offers a medium-weight line that is ideal for main lines in technical drawings and general detailed work. This width is thick enough to be clearly visible, yet not so broad that fine details are lost. It is a commonly used standard size that is compatible with most technical drawing standards and remains legible when drawings are reduced in size.

Reliable ink flow for professional use
This Rotring isograph works with a precision-made tip system that ensures an even ink flow. The design prevents the pen from drying out during use and guarantees that you can always count on consistent line quality. The pen is refillable, so you can use it for a long time for all your drawing projects.

Practical tip for optimal use
Always store the pen horizontally or with the tip facing down to maintain the ink flow. Make sure you close the cap securely after use to prevent drying out. For the best results, use the pen on smooth paper and hold it as vertically as possible while drawing.
