What does a Cat. 6 network cable do?
A Cat. 6 network cable connects your computer, laptop or other network equipment directly to your router, switch or modem. You need this type of cable when you want a stable, fast internet connection without the delays that WiFi can sometimes have, for example for gaming, video conferencing or transferring large files.

Why choose a 2.0 metre length?
The 2.0 metre length is ideal for short distances within a single room. This cable length fits perfectly when your equipment is placed relatively close together, such as a computer next to your desk with the router underneath, or for connections within a server rack. You won't have any excess cable lying in the way.

What does the 1 GBit/second speed mean?
This cable achieves data transmission speeds up to 1 GBit per second, which corresponds to 1000 Mbit/second. This is more than sufficient for most home networks and small offices. The U/UTP specification means the cable is unshielded, which is suitable for normal office and home environments without significant electrical interference.

Practical details for connection
The cable has RJ45 connectors with blue plugs and gold-plated contacts at both ends. These gold-plated contacts ensure better conductivity and less corrosion. Please note that both devices you want to connect must have an RJ45 network port – this is standard on most computers, laptops and network devices. The black colour and slim 3.5 mm diameter make the cable inconspicuous in your workspace.
