When do you need an active USB extension cable?
You use an active USB 3.0 extension cable when the standard cables of your devices are too short to make a stable connection over longer distances. This cable is ideal for situations where you want to place your USB devices further away from your computer, such as during presentations, in workspaces with external hard drives, or when your printer is far from your desk.

Why choose an active extension cable?
An active extension cable boosts the USB 3.0 signal during transmission, which is essential for reliable data transfer over distances where a regular cable would no longer be sufficient. The active design ensures that your devices remain stably connected.

Stable 5 Gbit/s transfer speed
This cable supports the full USB 3.0 speed of 5 Gbit/s, so you don't have to compromise on data transfer. The PVC cable sheath with a 5.5 mm diameter offers good protection against wear. The round cable design makes the cable flexible enough for different installation environments.

Practical compatibility
You connect the cable with a USB-A plug on the computer side and a USB-A socket for your device. This configuration works with almost all USB 3.0 devices, such as external hard drives, printers and scanners. Please note that active cables have a direction – check which end needs to face the computer before you install it permanently.
