What does this highlighter do and when do you need it?

The STABILO BOSS ORIGINAL is a highlighter you use to visually emphasise text in documents, reports or study material. The chisel-shaped tip allows for both broad and narrower strokes, so you can use it flexibly for highlighting large blocks of text or underlining shorter passages.

Why this assortment of five colours?

This set contains five pieces in yellow, green, orange, red and pink. That makes the assortment suitable if you work with a colour-coding system, for example to distinguish different categories or priorities in documents. You don't have to order each colour separately, which is handy for offices or classrooms where several people work at the same time.

Honest about the tip and line width

The chisel-shaped tip produces a line width between 2.0 and 5.0 mm, depending on how you hold the pen. Hold it at an angle and you'll highlight broadly; hold it more upright and you'll make a narrower stroke. This is a common characteristic of this type of marker, but it takes a little practice to highlight consistently at the width you want.

Practical tip on use and refillability

The ink is water-based and the pens are refillable, which reduces waste if you use them heavily. Do note the open-cap time: the manufacturer states that the pen can be left uncapped for up to four hours before it dries out. So make sure you always replace the cap after use, so the pens last longer.
