Sturdy metal compass with handy push-button adjustment for quick and precise work. The adjustable legs allow circles up to 350 mm, ideal for drawing and design.
When do you choose this product?
What does this product do and when do you need it?
The STAEDTLER quick-adjust compass NORIX 555 is a metal compass used for drawing circles and arcs accurately, for example in technical drawing, mathematics or architectural sketching. The compass is designed for anyone who regularly works with different circle diameters and wants to adjust quickly and reliably.
Why this particular model?
This model stands out thanks to the combination of a push-button mechanism and a centre spindle. The push button provides a quick coarse adjustment, while the spindle lets you fine-tune the diameter to the millimetre. The leg length is 170 mm and the legs are jointed, allowing you to draw circles with a maximum diameter of approximately 350 mm. That makes this model suitable for both small and medium-sized drawings on standard paper sizes.
Honest about the construction
The compass is made entirely of metal, which contributes to a stable position while drawing and limits wear over the long term. The coral-coloured finish is a recognisable feature of STAEDTLER's NORIX range. It is good to know that the compass comes supplied with a pencil lead holder, so you can get started straight away without having to buy separate graphite leads.
Practical storage and usage tip
The compass is supplied in a fold-out case with a hanging eyelet, which is handy if you want to store it in a pen tray or hang it up in a workshop or drawing classroom. When reordering leads, check which type of graphite lead is compatible with your compass; the supplied lead holder provides a good reference for this. With STAEDTLER reference 555 01-24, you can easily find this model when reordering.
