When do you need a 2 mm mechanical pencil?
The STAEDTLER Mars technico 788 C is a mechanical pencil specially designed for drawing, sketching and writing. You choose this type of mechanical pencil when you do precision work and want to vary the line thickness by adjusting the pressure and angle of the pencil. This makes it ideal for technical drawings, sketches and detailed writing.

Why 2 mm leads are the right choice
The 2 mm lead diameter offers you more versatility than thin mechanical pencils. You can make both fine lines and broader strokes, depending on how you hold the pencil and how much pressure you apply. This thickness gives you more control over your line drawing and is more robust than thinner alternatives, so it is less likely to break during intensive use.

HB hardness for versatile use
The supplied HB lead offers a good balance between hardness and softness. This degree of hardness produces clear lines without being too hard or too soft, so you can use the same pencil for both precise technical drawings and general writing.

Practical metal clip for everyday use
The mechanical pencil features a metal clip that ensures a secure attachment to your pocket, clipboard or case. This metal clip is more durable than plastic alternatives and keeps the pencil firmly in place. To replace the leads, use standard 2 mm mechanical pencil leads, which are widely available from office supply stores.
