What is a fibre optic patch cable and when do you use one?
A fibre optic patch cable such as this TELEGÄRTNER LC-LC duplex connects network components via fibre optic links. You need this cable when you want to connect fibre optic network equipment together, for example switches, routers or patch panels in professional network installations.

Why choose an LC-LC duplex configuration?
This cable has LC connectors at both ends in a duplex design, which means you can both send and receive data through a single cable connection. LC connectors are more compact than other fibre optic connectors and are widely used in modern network cabinets where space is important.

What does the OM3 specification mean for your application?
The OM3 classification stands for multimode fibre suitable for 10 Gigabit Ethernet over longer distances than standard OM1 or OM2 cables. This specification ensures reliable data transmission at high speeds, which is essential for professional network connections.

Practical considerations for a 7 metre length
At a length of 7 metres, this cable offers sufficient reach for connections within server cabinets, between adjacent racks or for short distances in a network room. Check beforehand whether your network equipment actually has LC connectors and whether the OM3 specification matches your existing fibre optic infrastructure.
