What does a rollerball pen with variable line width do?
The uni-ball AIR rollerball pen UBA188 is a writing instrument that adjusts its line width to the pressure you apply to the tip. This makes it ideal for creative applications, emphasising text and taking notes where you want to combine different widths. You need this type of pen when you want to add more expression to your handwriting or draw sketches with varied lines.

Why choose the red version?
Red is a powerful colour that works excellently for corrections, marking important points and making comments that stand out immediately. The UBA188 in red has a clip and end cap in the same red as the ink, which gives a consistent look. This colour choice makes the pen recognisable and professional.

Variable line width through pressure sensitivity
What makes this rollerball special is the pressure-sensitive tip, which responds to the force with which you write. Light pressure produces a thin line, while more pressure results in a thicker stroke. This gives you control over the appearance of your text without having to switch pens. The system works intuitively and requires no special technique.

Practical feature: writing in any position
A key advantage of the UBA188 is that you can write with it in any position – whether you are sitting upright, writing lying down or holding the pen at an angle. This makes the pen reliable for use on the go, during meetings in awkward positions, or when taking notes on vertical surfaces. The clip lets you attach the pen securely to your clothing or notebook.
