What do LR1 batteries do and when do you need them?
LR1 batteries are compact alkaline batteries that you mainly come across in smaller electronic devices. These 1.5V batteries are often used in medical equipment, small torches, laser pointers and various measuring instruments. Because of their specific size, they cannot be swapped with other battery types.

Why choose this compact 12mm size?
With a diameter of just 12 mm and a height of 30.2 mm, these LR1 batteries fit perfectly in devices where space is limited. The compact size makes them ideal for portable equipment that still needs a reliable power supply. You get two batteries per blister pack, which is handy because many devices require a pair of batteries.

An honest look at the 850 mAh capacity
The 850 mAh capacity offers a reasonable runtime for most LR1 applications. This figure is realistic for this size – you can't expect the same capacity as from larger batteries. For devices with low power consumption, such as digital thermometers or small remote controls, this capacity is usually sufficient for months of use.

Practical tip for storage and use
Keep the batteries in the original blister pack until you need them – this prevents discharge and protects the contact points. When replacing them, pay attention to the correct polarity and check that your device really requires LR1 batteries, as this is a less common size than AA or AAA.
