What does this masking tape do?

WESTEX Gold Economy masking tape is a paper masking tape that you use to shield surfaces during painting and decorating work. By applying the tape accurately, you prevent paint from landing where you don't want it, which gives you crisp colour divisions.

When should you choose this size?

This masking tape has a width of 300 mm and a roll length of 20 metres, which makes it particularly suitable for larger surfaces and longer lines of adhesion. The generous width makes it especially handy for masking window sills, for which this product is specifically recommended. If you need to protect wide edges or protruding parts, this size clearly offers more coverage than narrower masking tape.

An honest picture of the most important feature

The tape is made of lightly impregnated kraft paper, which gives it a degree of moisture resistance – useful when painting around window sills where condensation or moisture may play a role. The paper is thin and flexible yet tear-resistant, so the tape unrolls from the roll without problems and stays neatly in shape while you apply it. The manufacturer states that the tape is suitable for double masking, meaning you can apply several layers on top of each other for extra protection.

Practical tip when using it

After applying the tape, press it down firmly along the paint edge to prevent paint bleed and achieve the sharpest colour transition. The tape is designed to unroll easily, so you can work quickly and without interruptions on long, continuous surfaces. Preferably remove the tape before the paint has fully cured for the neatest finish.
