What does this masking tape do and when do you need it?

Masking tape is used to cover surfaces during painting and varnishing work, so that paint, lacquer or stain lands exactly where you want it. WESTEX Gold Premium masking tape is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications where you are dealing with demanding conditions, such as moisture, heat or prolonged exposure to sunlight.

Why this size and this variant?

With a width of 30 mm and a roll length of 50 m, this tape covers a considerable area without you having to grab a new roll all the time. The 30 mm width is practical for masking edges, window frames and mouldings where you want a clear dividing line. The tape is also suitable for double masking, which is useful if you want to achieve extra sharp paint edges.

Honest about the key properties

This tape is UV-resistant up to UV90 and heat-resistant up to 150 degrees Celsius, so you can also use it for work that generates heat, such as when using a heat gun, or for outdoor applications in full sun. The high water resistance ensures the tape retains its adhesion even when you are working with water-based paints or in damp conditions. Because it is thin and flexible, it conforms well to round and curved surfaces without tearing.

Practical tip when using

Because this tape unrolls particularly easily, you can apply it quickly and accurately without it sticking to itself or curling up before you are ready. Remove the tape in good time after use to avoid adhesive residue, and store any unused roll dry and out of direct sunlight to keep its properties at their best.
