This LogiLink Professional S/FTP Cat.7 cable is suitable for networks that require high bandwidth and maximum shielding. You choose this type of cable when you want to install a solid, permanent network infrastructure in an office or server room.
Why Cat.7 with S/FTP shielding?
Cat.7 supports a bandwidth of up to 600 MHz, which is more than sufficient for demanding network applications. The S/FTP shielding means that each twisted pair is individually wrapped in metallic foil and that there is also a braided overall screen around it. This double shielding principle effectively protects the signal against electromagnetic interference from the environment, which is important in environments with a lot of electrical equipment.
An honest explanation of the CCA wires
The conductors in this cable are made of CCA (Copper Clad Aluminium): an aluminium core with a copper outer layer. CCA is lighter and cheaper than solid copper, but has a slightly higher resistance. This cable delivers Cat.7 performance up to a cable length of 70 metres, and the supplied 20 metres falls well within that limit. For standard office and building installations, this is in most cases no obstacle.
