What is batik paint and when do you need it?
Batik paint is used to colour textiles using the traditional batik technique, in which you create patterns and designs by covering parts of the fabric. This Marabu Tie Dy batik paint is ready to use straight from the bottle, so you can get started straight away without first mixing a dye bath or waiting for long periods.

Why choose this water-based variant?
This water-based batik paint is specifically developed for use on light-coloured textiles. Thanks to its water-based formula, the paint is odourless, which makes working with it much more pleasant, especially indoors or when children are involved. You don't need to worry about strong chemical smells during the creative process.

How colourfast is the paint?
The paint is washable up to 40°C and lightfast, meaning your coloured textile pieces will retain their colours after washing and will not fade under the influence of sunlight. This makes it suitable for garments and other textile products that are washed regularly, provided you observe the recommended washing temperature of no more than 40 degrees.

Practical tip for the best results
Make sure you only use light-coloured textiles, as the paint works best on white or light-coloured fabrics. Dark textiles will give less striking results. After batiking, follow the instructions for fixing the paint and wash the textile item separately before first use to remove any excess paint.
