What does this product do and when do you need it?
Ink cartridges are the consumables that supply your fountain pen with ink. As soon as your fountain pen starts writing less smoothly or the ink runs low, it's time to fit a new cartridge. These Pelikan 4001 series cartridges deliver the colour violet, which makes them a distinctive choice for anyone who likes to vary from the standard blue or black ink.

Why this variant?
The Pelikan 4001 cartridges are standard cartridges, suitable for all common fountain pens with a cartridge holder. That makes them widely usable, whether you have a school fountain pen or a somewhat more advanced writing pen. The packaging contains 6 cartridges, so you have a reasonable supply at hand without having to buy a large quantity straight away.

An honest word about the colour violet
Violet is a striking ink colour that sets your writing apart from text in standard blue or black. That can be handy for notes, corrections or simply as a personal preference. Do bear in mind that violet is less common in formal or business documents, but for school, journals or creative writing it's a pleasant choice.

Practical tip: checking compatibility
Check beforehand that your fountain pen is suitable for standard short cartridges, as not all fountain pens use the same cartridge size. The Pelikan 4001 cartridges are standard-sized and fit most common cartridge fountain pens, but with proprietary systems using different dimensions it's worth checking. Preferably store unused cartridges lying down and sealed in a cool, dry place, so the ink doesn't dry out before you use them.
