This is why Dex likes this article
With this A3 pad from Canson you can sketch and study worry-free: the 60 sheets of aged kraft paper hold pencil, charcoal and other dry techniques beautifully. Thanks to the micro-perforation you can tear off sheets effortlessly, handy on the go or in the studio.
When do you choose this product?
What is this sketchbook for and when do you need it?
This Canson XL sketchbook has been specially developed for dry drawing techniques such as pencil and charcoal. The kraft paper with a ribbed texture offers natural resistance that is ideal for sketches, studies and experimental drawings. You use this pad when you want to practise different pencil techniques or when you are looking for a rustic, warm surface for your artwork.
Why the A3 format is the right choice
With the A3 format of 297 x 420 mm, you have plenty of room for extensive sketches and detailed studies. This size is large enough to draw freely without being restricted by the sheet size, yet still manageable for use at different workspaces. The spiral-bound design ensures that you can use every page completely flat.
The benefits of kraft paper with a ribbed texture
The kraft paper has a natural, light brown colour that adds warmth to your drawings and enhances contrasts. The ribbed texture gives your drawing material grip and creates interesting effects with hatching techniques. At 90 g/m², the paper is sturdy enough to carry multiple layers of pencil or charcoal without tearing through.
Practical benefits for everyday use
The top spiral binding and micro-perforation make it easy to tear out sheets neatly once your work is finished. With 60 sheets, you have plenty of material for long-term drawing projects. The pad is suitable for pencil, charcoal and other dry media, but not for wet techniques such as watercolour or ink.
