With this set of 40 colourful watercolour pencils, you can bring every creative idea to life. The break-resistant, water-soluble cedarwood leads produce beautiful, vibrant colour effects both dry and with a little water.
When do you choose this product?
What are watercolour pencils and when do you use them?
Watercolour pencils combine the precision of coloured pencils with the fluid effects of watercolour paint. You use them when you want to draw in detail but also create watercolour effects by adding water. This CARAN D'ACHE SWISSCOLOR set is ideal for artists, illustrators and hobbyists who want to benefit from both techniques.
Why choose this set of 40 colours?
With 40 different shades, you get an extensive colour palette that includes all the basic colours and many intermediate tints. The set contains both primary colours such as yellow and red, as well as specific shades such as malachite green, Prussian blue and Van Dyke brown. This wide range allows you to create complex colour transitions without having to mix many colours.
How do the water-soluble properties work?
The pencils have a soft, water-soluble core of 2.8 mm that dissolves easily in water. You first draw dry for precision work, then go over the lines with a damp brush to create watercolour effects. The soft lead delivers rich colour, while the break resistance means the core does not break easily during use.
Practical features for everyday use
The pencils are made of cedar wood with a hexagonal shape, which ensures they do not roll off your drawing table. The metal case keeps your pencils organised and protects them during transport. Thanks to the hexagonal barrel, the pencils sit comfortably in your hand, which is important when drawing for long periods.
