What is this notebook for and when do you need it?

The Clairefontaine Mimesys is a school notebook with Seyès ruling, the classic French grid layout designed specifically for learning and practising handwriting. This format is ideal for pupils who need structure when writing, but the notebook is also widely used by adults who like to take well-organised notes.

Why this format and this variant?

At 170×220 mm, this notebook is compact enough to carry around, yet offers sufficient writing space per page. The transparent polypropylene cover protects the notebook well against daily use in a bag or rucksack, without making it unnecessarily thick or heavy.

An honest look at the paper

The notebook contains 48 pages of vellum paper weighing 90 g. This paper weight means you are less bothered by ink showing through to the reverse of a page, which works well when using ballpoint or fountain pens. Do bear in mind that 48 pages is relatively few, which makes this notebook suitable for shorter periods or individual subjects.

Practical tip on purchase and use

This notebook is supplied in a pack of 10, which makes it good value if you need several notebooks at once, for example at the start of a school year. The Seyès ruling is specifically tied to the French writing system; check in advance whether this ruling meets the requirements of the school or institution for which you are buying the notebooks. The green colour of the cover also makes it easy to spot this notebook quickly among other materials.
