When do you need a short network cable?
A Cat. 5e network cable is used to connect devices directly to each other or to your network via an Ethernet port. With a length of 0.5 metres, this DIGITUS cable is ideal for short connections, such as between your router and modem, or for connecting devices that are close together without excess cable length.

Why choose the Cat. 5e specification?
Cat. 5e cables are the standard for most home networks and office environments. This U/UTP (unshielded) variant offers sufficient performance for regular internet connections and file transfers within your local network. The 1:1 wiring ensures that all eight wires are correctly connected for reliable data transmission.

Practical protection for everyday use
This cable has RJ45 connectors with a blue transparent housing and is fitted with knickschutz (strain relief boots), which means the connections are protected against kinking and breaking. The zugentlastung (strain relief) prevents damage if the cable is accidentally pulled, and the rasthebelschutz protects the latch mechanism of the connector.

Compatibility and installation tip
The RJ45 8P8C connectors fit all standard Ethernet ports on computers, routers, switches and other network equipment. Thanks to the short length of 0.5 metres, you can keep your workspace neatly organised without excess cables. When connecting, make sure you push the connector fully in until you hear it click – this guarantees a stable connection.
