What is watercolour pencil and when do you use it?
Watercolour pencil combines the ease of drawing with a pencil with the ability to create watercolour effects. You use this water-soluble pencil when you want to apply both dry pencil techniques and watercolour techniques in one artwork. It is ideal for artists who want to experiment with different textures and effects.

Why this specific cadmium yellow format?
This Albrecht Dürer variant has a core thickness of 3.8 mm, which ensures broad lines and quick areas of colour. The cadmium yellow is a warm, vibrant golden yellow that is essential for mixing bright greens and creating sunny accents in your work. The length of 176 mm provides enough material for long-lasting use.

Durability through special bonding
This pencil has a break-protected core thanks to special bonding, meaning the core is held more firmly and is less likely to break. This property is crucial for watercolour pencils because you often apply pressure while drawing and the core becomes damp when using water. The high-quality pigments ensure high lightfastness, so your colours will not fade.

Practical use with water
For the best result, first apply the colour dry and then work it out with a damp brush. You can also lightly moisten the pencil itself for a more direct watercolour effect. The soft and colour-intensive stroke makes it possible to apply both fine details and broad areas of colour.
