What are stretcher bars and when do you use them?
Stretcher bars are wooden frames with stretched canvas that you use for painting with paint, acrylic or oil paint. You need them when you want to paint on canvas instead of paper, because the canvas provides a stable and professional surface that does not sag under the weight of the paint.

Professional quality thanks to 37 mm depth and cotton
The 37 mm deep frame gives the canvas extra stability and prevents sagging while you paint. The canvas is made of 100% cotton with a weight of 380 g/m² and is primed with a 3-layer gesso ground. This gesso ground ensures that the paint adheres well and does not soak into the canvas, so your colours stay brighter.

Practical details for use
You receive 2 stretcher bars in this package, including pine wooden wedges. You use these wedges to tighten the canvas again over time if it has become looser due to moisture or use. Carefully insert the wedges into the corners of the frame and tap them lightly to increase the tension.
