Marbling is a creative technique in which you create unique marble patterns by letting paint float on water and then drawing objects through it. This KREUL Magic Marble set has been specially developed for tauchmarmorieren (dip marbling), allowing you to transform everyday objects into artistic pieces with natural marble patterns.
Why this basic colour set is the ideal start
This set contains 6 pots of 20 ml in the essential colours white, sun yellow, red, blue, green and black. With these basic colours you can create any shade you like, as the colours can be mixed with one another. The glass pots have a dropper, so you can precisely control how much paint you put on the water for your marbled effect.

Instructions for Marbling Paint "Magic Marble":
1. Dropping: Fill a container, large enough to fully submerge the object, with water. Please note: the container can no longer be fully cleaned. Therefore, protect the container with a plastic bag if necessary. Shake the paint briefly. Drop the marbling paint close to the water surface.
2. Drawing the pattern: The more paint you drop, the more intense the marbling colour becomes. For polystyrene, use no more than 15 drops and a maximum of 4 colour shades. Immediately after dropping the paint, draw the marbling pattern with a wooden stick. The ideal marbling result is achieved by using 2 to 3 colour shades.
3. Dipping: Place the object, e.g. a polystyrene heart, onto a wooden stick. Slowly submerge the heart in the water, leave it briefly, and quickly pull it out again. To prevent a second layer of paint forming on the object, blow on the water surface before pulling it out so that the paint flows to the edge. Leave to dry. Depending on the surface of the object being marbled, the paint will be dust-dry after 15 to 30 minutes. Once fully dry, the objects are washable.
4. Done: For the next marbling, carefully remove excess paint from the water surface using a sheet of paper (paper side down). Remove paint residue to achieve an even distribution of the new paint. If the water is heavily contaminated, replace it.
Creative tips:
- the order in which the colour shades are dropped affects the marbling pattern: the first colour shade is pushed aside by the second, so the second colour shade stands out more strongly
- for single-colour marbling, use Colourless and the desired colour shade
- when marbling, always work quickly, as otherwise a lightly dried paint film will form on the water surface
- close the paint immediately after use
- wearing gloves and an apron is recommended
- for textiles and fabrics, test samples are recommended
